Dzintars Sodums is a Latvian writer who spent his lifetime working on a translation of James Joyce's Ulysses. It was published in Latvia in 2012, and an exhibition was organised to mark the occasion and to introduce the local public to Sodums' literary accomplishments. The exhibition took place in three locations: the park around Bastejkalns, Riga State 1st Gymnasium, and an electronics store. All three venues were connected by a path of bright green dots symbolising the journeys of Leopold Bloom, the protagonist of Ulysses, Joyce, and Sodums. The content of the exhibition was mainly text. In Bastejkalns, the displayed writings encouraged to use the park in more diverse ways and to explore all of them. The top of the Bastejkalns hill was transformed into a convenient hangout for people enjoying the view, having a meal or listening to a public reading of Ulysses.
